The NIMSAT Institute, along with Joey Pons, UL Safety Director and Joey Sturm of the University Police Department kicked off the Emergency Management for Higher Education (EMHE) project on February 7, 2011 at Abdalla Hall Auditorium. The EMHE project will enhance the university’s current emergency management plan with a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
With the help of James Lee Witt and Associates, an emergency management-consulting agency, the UL Lafayette EMHE project will consist of an evaluation and enhancement of the university’s existing Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), development of an all-hazards emergency management plan, and a homeland security exercise and evaluation (HSEEP). |
